- Geological - An unusual complex structure incl. silicate mineral of sodium, calcium, cerium, iron, manganese, yttrium, and zirconium. Better samples exhibit large semi-transparent crystals of deep red color embedded in a matrix of black, gray & white. Colors can range from black, brown, red, pink, and white. Hardness 5-5.5.
